Question
I really like the taste of Cohiba Red Dot and Cohiba Black, as well as some other more mild ones (like the Travis Club Senators).

I want to buy in bulk to save money so my question is: how do the Factory Seconds or the El Cheapo cigars compare to the flavor/strength of the Cohiba and/or the Sentors? What are some cigar brands (Finck's and others included) that are similar that I should look for when I considering purchasing cigars in a sampler or in bulk?

Thanks

Answer
Jason,

Thanks for the compliments. Our Factory Seconds brands are Travis Club seconds, so the taste is similar but the cigars have stains/soft spots... which is what makes them seconds.

We don't make the Cohiba brand, and there are no seconds available. However, our Lamb's Club brand is made with similar tobaccos and has a similar taste. Give them a try and I think you'll be pleased.

Thanks,
Bill

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
