Question I am hoping to try to build my own humidor. I can't find plans to do so. Do you know how/where I can find actual plans to follow to build a humidor? I would like to build a cabinet with drawers on the bottom and shelves on top with glass door(s). Thanks!
Answer Build a cabinet to these specifications
1" solid wood like mahogany, cherry or?
Locking mitre or double locking mitre construction to avoid splitting or cracking.
Solid doors 1/8" glass or double paned if possible and make sure they seal perfectly.
1/4 inch thick Spanish cedar shelving, perhaps 3/8" for drawers but that is your choice. Only Spanish cedar can be used for the interior as any other wood will affect the flavor of the cigars.
Humidorstore.com had nice small electric humidification like the Oasis and larger commercial units also.
A good humidification unit will offset any lack of quality in construction. I have seen lousy humidors with good electric humidification that makes up for the problems in construction quality.
