Question
If I came back with a couple of boxes of good cubans could I sell them here in Toronto. If so any ideas where. It would help cover the costs of the vacation. Also what brands would be the esiest to sell. Thanks

You'll have better luck selling to private buyers.  Many businesses will not buy cigars from people off the street.  Try posting your cigars in newspaper buy/sell classifieds or through a website like Craigslist.  You can even sell them to your friends as some of them may know cigar smokers or want to buy a box as a present for someone.

In terms of brands, the more popular and well-known brands are always easy to sell.  Limited edition cigars are also very popular and often in high demand.

Here are the most popular Cuban cigar brands:

Montecristo
Cohiba
Partagas
Romeo y Julieta
Hoyo de Monterrey
Punch*

*Punch is not available in Canada so this brand would be easy to sell due to it's scarce supply.

When selling your cigars, be sure to include the original store receipt as proof that your cigars were purchased from an authorized Habanos store.  (A gift receipt, if available, will work.)  Without a proper receipt, buyers are less likely to buy from private sellers.

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
