Question
Why is distilled water used in humidors rather than regular tap water or any other water for that matter?

Most tap water has calcium and lime in it, and these items will stop up the pores in a humidifier and make it work less efficiently. Distilled water does not have calcium or lime, and is therefore recommended for use in evaporative type humidifiers.
