I will be travelling to Mexico soon and would like to know of good Cuban cigar shops in my area. I will be staying near Playa Del Carmen, 30 minutes south of Cancun. I will also be spending a day in Cancun as well. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. Thanks, Lou
Hi Lou,
The best place to purchase Cuban cigars from is the La Casa Del Habanos shops (LCDH). There are many LCDH shops all over the world and they all sell genuine Cuban cigars (all supplied by official Cuban distributors) and because LCDH shops are authorized Habanos SA Cuban cigar retailers, their prices are fair and honest.
In Mexico, there are seven LCDH shops with one in Cancun. Here is the address:

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
