Question
James, what is the difference between the two Padron Aniversary editions?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Daniel,

The Padron 1964 Anniversario cigars were created to mark Padron cigars' 30th Anniversary in the cigar making business.  The tobacco is aged for four years and is very rich, smooth and creamy.  There are 9 cigars in this line and the cigars are available in both natural and maduro wrappers.  The 1926 Anniversario series is to commemorate Jose Padron's 75th birthday.  There are 7 cigars in this line and the tobacco is aged for 5 years for a slightly richer flavour.  These cigars are also available in natural or maduro.  For both lines, each cigar has an individual serial number marked on the cigar band.

Here are the 9 cigars in the 1964 Anniversario line:

Diplomatico (Double Corona 7 x 50)
Piramide (Pyramid 6 7/8 x 52)
Exclusivo (Robusto 5 1/2 x 50)
Monarca (Grand Corona 6 1/2 x 46)
Superior (Lonsdale 6 1/2 x 42)
Corona (Long corona 6 x 42)
Principe (Corona extra 4 1/2 x 46)
Imperial (Toro 6 x 54)
Torpedo (Torpedo 6 x 52)

Here are the 7 cigars in the 1926 Anniversario line:

No. 35 (Rothschild 4 x 48)
No. 6 (Robusto 4 3/4 x 50)
No. 2 (Belicoso 5 1/2 x 52)
No. 9 (Robusto 5 1/4 x 56)
No. 1 (Toro 6 3/4 x 54)
40th Anniversary (Torpedo 6 1/2 x 54)
80th Anniversary (Figurado 6 3/4 x 54)

Hopes this answers your question.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
