Cigars/Cigars wrapped or unwrapped

Question
The cigars I buy are individually wrapped in cellophane, should I unwrap them before placing them in my new seasoned humidor?

Answer
Thank you for asking this important question.
ALWAYS leave your cigars in the wrappers if that's how they come. In the last 30 years I have seen all sorts of damage to unwrapped cigars. I have also smoked some of the best aged cigars that were in wrappers. The wrappers are not sealed and allow the cedar aroma to seep in. Wrappers will contain mold to one or a few cigars if it should break out and wrappers protect the wrapper leaf. If you forget to put water in the humidor the wrapper will protect the cigar for perhaps a week.
Aging
In 1998 I got 15 boxes of pre Castro Cuban cigars from the 1950s and all the cigars in wrappers were exceptional and in perfect condition. The boxes with naked cigars were 30% unsmokeable due to damage.
