QUESTION: Hello M J Robbins,
I recently came into possession of a humidor that I believe to be an older Elie
Bleu but have no way to verify that other than the Hygrometer that is attached
to it. That says Elie Bleu but has an older looking logo on it. Do you think by
the photos attached that my humidor is an Elie Bleu? I have additional images
if needed. Thanks so much for your help in this matter.

Hygrometer is perfectly centered.
Double locking mitre construction - top quality.
Gold gilded Quadrant hinges.
Tight fitted Black ebony trim that I can see.

I would say it seems right so far...

Only you can see if all the pieces fit perfectly as that is another sign of quality. The inlay should be perfect. The wood should be magnificent.

It looks like blond mahogany but that is a stretch without actually touching it.
You could safely tell your friends -Elie Bleu, Blond Mahogany with Black Ebony trim.

If you are looking to sell it you could authenticate the types wood at a wood speciality store. There is one near me, I hope there is one near you if you want to go that far.
Pictures all the way around would help me identify the wood as I need to see the complete grain of the piece.
Please do them in order so I can follow the grain.
Top then front, right, back, left.

I looked at the pictures and they are not good enough for me to tell.
However
$300 is a good price for an older Elie Bleu box in this condition.

Mention the construction as I detailed
Double locking mitre
Gold gilded hinges and inlay

You need better pictures if you can, to get the best price.
