Question
Hi James,

I was thinking of upgrading to a bigger humidor and a Cigar oasis as I often find my 50 count humidor to get a little bit crowded.

I was looking at the Cigar Oasis Humidifiers XL and am thinking it would be a good investment so I would no longer have to stress about humidity.   However, I was wondering if the Oasis XL would be alright for a humidor that holds about 150 cigars.   Are these humidification devices only for larger cabinet style humidors?   or would they be fine in a smaller humidor (ex: 150 cigars)?

Answer
Hi Andy,

Yes, the Cigar Oasis XL will work with 150-count humidors.  The Cigar Oasis XL can accomodate up to a 300-count humidor.  The smallest humidor size it can accomodate is 50-count.  I have the XL in a 100-count humidor and it works perfectly.

Both the Cigar Oasis XL and XL Plus are the same size.  The only differences are the power supply and size of the distilled water cartridge.  The XL has a smaller water cartridge but can be powered by either 4 AA batteries or a AC adaptor.  The XL Plus has a larger water cartridge but can only be power by AC adaptor.

I hope this helps!  If you have any more questions, please feel free to just ask and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
