another important question i bought 3 cigar boxes the 3
brands that i mentioned !!

i tried them  .. but there's a trick that im not able to
figure it out by myself in the box of 25 cigars the cigar
taste varies is that normal!
sometimes u smoke a cigar with sucha good taste and
sometimes it taste like shit!
how that comes?

Answer
Hi Anthony,

I personally prefer the Partagas D4.  I love the Ramon Allones Specially Selected and Montecristo Edmundo but the Partagas D4 has always been consistent and one of my favourites.  I especially like it when I find a box with dark and oily D4s.  Truly fantastic!

To answer your other question, all premium Cuban cigars are handmade so sometimes cigars in a box may taste or burn better than others.  Also, not all 25 cigars in a box may be rolled by one roller.  At a cigar factory, all the cigars are rolled and then sent to a colour sorter who matches all the cigars by shade and bundles them.  As a result, a box of 25 cigars could be rolled by several cigar rollers using several different batches of tobacco (seperate batches but aged at the same time.)  The different taste in cigars could be caused by the different batches of tobacco and the different draw/burn could be caused by the way a roller rolls the tobacco.  Every cigar roller has their own different technique to bunching tobacco plus when the filler tobacco is bunched, the unique folds and wrinkles in the tobacco can affect the burn and draw.  Each cigar is unique and different.

I hope this helps.  As always, if you have any more questions, please feel free to just ask and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
