Cigars/Cohiba Pyramide EL 2009

Question
My cigar retailer showed me a box of Cohiba Pyramide Edicion Limitada 2009 today. I was not aware of a 2009 for this cigar - only 2001 and 2006. These cigars and the box appeared quite genuine, even upon close inspection. Has Cohiba released a 2009?

Unfortunately, there are no Cohiba Edicion Limitada cigars released in 2009. In 2009, these were the only Edicion Limitada cigars released by Habanos SA:
Bolívar - Petit Belicosos
H. Upmann - Magnum 48
Romeo y Julieta - Dukes
As you mentioned, Cohiba Piramides were only released as an Edicion Limitada in 2001 and 2006. The cigars shown in the picture may appear genuine but it's very likely that the bands were taken from genuine cigars and applied to these fake piramides. In recent years, counterfeiters have stolen and recycled genuine boxes and bands to make their cigars appear more genuine to potential customers.
If you look at the picture, some of the bands are applied at different lengths with some higher than others. This is a common mistake by counterfeiters. Genuine cigar bands are all perfectly aligned because they're precisely applied at the factory. (Applied by hand but using a template.)
There are also other counterfeit Cohiba Edicion Limitadas being made. A couple of years ago, a few readers also reported 2008 Cohiba Edicion Limitada Double Coronas. These cigars are also fake.
