Question
I recieved an acrylic humidor along with cigars for my birthday.
It came with an black disc and no instructions. Being a cigar novice I have no clue what I need to do to protect these cigars or how this disc works. Do I add water? Or do I leave it alone. There is also a cedar disc on the bottom of the jar. Thanks for your help.

Answer
A humidor is a wood box specially made to hold cigars and keep them moist.
It would always be wood with Spanish cedar lining.
Use this acrylic jar to keep nick knacks in.
Put the cigars you got in a plastic zip lock bag and smoke them in the next few weeks.

Get a real humidor if you like cigars.
Pressed wood and veneer from $50 - $500
$500 or more you get solid wood like Curly Maple with a pressed wood top and veneer because the top gets a lot of moisture and will warp if it is solid.

Cigars must lie down flat like they are resting.
If they are standing they have a propensity to expand and split.
