Question

Cohibas
James,

I would like some information on which Habanos website offers the authenticity check?

I have some boxes of sticks that were given to me from a nephew who has been overseas in the military for the passed couple of years. I have checked all of the labels and placement of suck labels and they all seem to be attached perfectly and where they need to be.

I have been trying over and over again on the Habanos webste but the authenticty check does not register on the webpage. I have been trying for weeks.

Can you send a link to the authenticity checker that you reccomend? I have boxes of Partagas, Romeo y Julieta, Cohibas, H Upmann, Montecristo and more coming.

Thank you for your information you have posted on your page. Great work.

Answer
Hi Ron,

I just checked Habano's authenticity check on their official webpage and it's working correctly. Because it's the OFFICIAL authenticity check program, I would suggest that you only use this one. Any other authenticity check program offered by other websites or online retailers could be faulty, fraudulent and/or outdated.  Approved Habanos distributors will also recommend that you use the one at Habanos' website.  You can find it www.habanos.com (it's located at the top of the main page.)

If you don't see the authenticity check button at the top of the Habanos webpage, make sure you have the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer.  Also, when entering the serial code, be sure to select "Input Manual" and select the correct serial code format that your specific box has.

I hope this helps!  As always, if you have any more questions, please feel free to just ask and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
