Question
Hi James,
What are some of the cigars that are hard to find or hard to order online, or if there are any you can only get in Cuba.
On my next trip i'd like to bring back something at least partially unique in that not everyone will have them or get their hands on them.

Hi Craig,
Here in Canada, we do not have access to Punch cigars because the non-Cuban cigar version of Punch secured the rights to sell their cigars in Canada. As a result, Cuban Punch cannot be sold in Canadian stores (the same applies to the non-Cuban counterparts of Cuban brands such as Montecristo, Partagas, Romeo y Julieta, Ramon Allones, etc. Because the Cuban versions are sold in Canada, the non-Cuban versions are not available here.) Other hard-to-find and rare cigars include early Edicion Limitada releases as well as the Edicion Regional cigars. The Edicion Limitada series began in 2000 so the earlier the Edicion Limitada year, the more hard-to-find the cigars are now.
Some Edicion Limitada and Edicion Regional cigars may be extremely hard to find in Cuba now but it wouldn't hurt to search around for them. Punch is still regularly available in Cuba.

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
