Cigars/Don't Want It To Go Stale

Question
I purchased, for my father-in-law, a Padron 1964 Anniversary Series cigar while on vacation approximately 3 weeks ago. My original intentions were to give it to him a few days after returning but then realized that I can give it to him for Christmas. I do not want it to go stale or loose a lot of its taste. I do not have a humidor and do not have one available for use. Do you have any ideas on what I can do to keep it some what tasty enough for him. Please keep in mind that I will have it in my possession until Christmas. I currently have it in two zip-lock bags. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Maria,
You really need to keep some type of humidification with the cigars until you give them to him. There are disposable-type humidifiers available that you could place in the zip-lock bag with the box that will work fine. Try calling your local tobacconist and see if they have something. If not we have them available at www.finckcigar.com just search for humid-eze and look for the disposable unit. They sell for $1.25.
Thanks

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
