Question
I am looking for a cigar and don't have a clue what I am looking for.  My best friend in the National Guard was given a cigar and loved it and I am trying to find more for him.  He told me that it was a James imones.  I have searched then internet and cannot find anything that even remotely resembles what he is talking about.  Can you help me???

Answer
Hi Anna,

That name doesn't really sound familiar.  The name sounds like it could be "Jimenes" and there is a cigar brand called "Leon Jimenes" but I can't confirm if that's the brand your friend is talking about.  It could also be a lower-end cigar brand and there are so many inexpensive, low-end cigar brands appearing in the cigar industry every month that it's very hard to keep track of them.  Can you get your friend to describe the cigar band or anything else about the cigar?  If I was to get a description of the cigar band or more info about the cigar (such as country of origin, size, etc.), I could try to track down the brand for you.

If you have any more questions or more info about this cigar, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
