Cigars/Placement of humidifier inside of humidor

Question
I have a high quality, 100 cigar capacity, glass top humidor with one internal shelf.  The humidifier is floral foam (roughly 6 inches long).  Where is the best placement for the humidifier inside of the box?  Should I attach it to the underside of the shelf, the glass, back of the box?  Thanks for your help!

Answer
Dave,
The humidifier can really go anywhere inside the box. You don't want your cigars to come in direct contact with it because they could get over-humidified or they could block it from letting moisture out, but other than that it is really a matter of preference. Usually they go inside the lid because they don't take up any room for cigar storage, but that won't look good with a glass top. I would think the best place would be on one of the 4 sides.
Hope this helps.

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
