Question
I recently recieved a box of Macanudo vint. cab. 2000 #1 cigars. The box is very nice, and the cigars are a bit too big to put in the humidor all at once. What is the best storing approach for this product. thank you for our help

Answer
Evan,
I'm familiar with the Macanudo Vintage 2000 cigars and boxes, and unfortunately even though the boxes are heavy, beautiful boxes they are not suitable to be used as a humidor since the lid does not seal air-tight. You'll either need to acquire another humidor to store the cigars in or if you just want to keep them fresh and don't want to invest in a humidor place the cigars in an airtight container (i.e. a zip-lock bag) with a humidifier. You can pick up a humidifier for a few dollars from your local tobacconist or if you have trouble finding one we have them available at www.finckcigar.com or (800) 221-0638. Look for a Madelaine Crystal Jar, a self-contained humidifying system, that you can get for around $5. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
