Question
Hi i recently bought a cigar that i think is french. It is very old around world war 1 or 2. It comes in a case marked tour du mond. It is a very large cigar and the ring on it says general du gold aparently a gfrench general in one of those wars. I was just wondering if you would happen to know the value of it or where i might be able to find out about its value. thanks

Answer
Kurt,
Vintage cigars are out of my area of expertise, but if you think you have something of value Christie of London is where many vintage cigars are bought and sold. I believe they can help you with an appraisal. Check out http://www.christies.com/departments/overview.asp?DID=17 and that should take you to their vintage cigar section.
Good Luck.

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
