Question
Hi i recently bought a cigar that i think is french. It is very old around world war 1 or 2. It comes in a case marked tour du mond. It is a very large cigar and the ring on it says general du gold aparently a gfrench general in one of those wars. I was just wondering if you would happen to know the value of it or where i might be able to find out about its value. thanks

Hi Kurt,

Unfortunately, I don't specialize in vintage cigar appraisals at all but what you can do is contact antique dealers specializing in "Tobacciana" and they should be able to properly assess the cigar or direct you to someone who handles tobacciana appraisals.

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
