Question
Proper temperature is 65 degrees 73% humidity
That is the figure used by the experts like General cigar whose wherehouse was set up by Vigilant. I discussed this with them in 2004 at the RTDA. I was suprised that the guys at Vigilant knew what it took me 2 years to test out in 1992.
I learned from Brad Weinfeld while hanging out in the Holco Rohr wherehouse in the 1980s where they kept the precious Romeo's
I built my humidor to draw the temp down to 62.7 degrees and up to 67.3 leaving a medium of 65
73% humidity at this temp is the best and I build it up a few percent if the weather is going to be dry tomorrow.
Now at 61 degrees?

Answer
Mike,
Sorry to be a little late in getting back to you - I took a sick day Friday and just got back in the office.

I didn't really understand if you had a question or are you just giving your opinion of what the proper temperature/humidity is to store cigars?

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
