Question
Dear Scott:
I'd really like to know why you began firebreathing, and how you learned to do it.

Thanks!
Anna Rumley

Answer
Hiya Anna,
I began firebreathing mainly because I'd been so impressed with the showmanship of the performance. The way it captivates any audience young or old, and always gets a huge appreciative response.
It captured me the first time I'd seen it done live. I spoke to the performer who put me in touch with one of their freinds more local to me and over the period of about 6 months, they trained me.
I spent a long, long time practising with water before using anything flammable. It's a highly dangerous hobby both in the short and long term. Even if you can firebreath perfectly every time, the flammable liquid contains a lot of 'Heavy metals' - Not the music !! but the composition of paraffin contains damaging elemants to (mainly) your lungs. So it's important to give yourself every available measure to protect yourself.
Anyway, I hope this answers your question, feel free to mail me again if you'd like any more info.

Until then - take care & HAVE FUN !!

Scotty

Fire Acts. I`ve been firebreathing for 6 years and can answer any questions you may have on technique, safety measures, materials etc. I also use and build fire Poi (fire-balls on chains) and can explain patterns that commonly used in fire performances. If you`re interested in firebreathing; it`s essential you are fully practiced to a standard where you`re not going to cook yourself inside-out!
