Question
Sorry my last email was too long.In 2006 I started a LLc business. I had a friend who went in as my partner.I was the 51% and she was 40% owner. We needed funds so she got her parents to do an equity line of up to $80,000. I did not approve this. They went and did this behind my back.I did not sign any contract with them for the loan nor did I as the LLC majority.Business shut down later that year and then they tried going after me for the loan. We are due in Supierior court tomorrow and I needed to know since I already closed the LLC does it still protect me if this money took place during that time? They are also taking my husband to court and he was never on the LLC nor did he take part in the business. They are trying to attach him because I am somewhat disabled after a surgery and I dont work. They know that he works so they want to put it on him.Can they attach him to it when he had nothing to do with anything? Thanks for any help.

Answer
Liz:

You are asking for my legal advice for a court hearing tomorrow. I don't know the law in your state, your issues are too complex to diagnose over the web, and I am not licensed to practice law in your state. For these reasons, I highly recommend that you get an attorney to protect your legal interests. For me to give any other advice could lead you in the wrong direction.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but this situation is complex and you need an attorney with time to discuss your situation more thoroughly and, most importantly, one who understands the law in your state.
