Civil/Commercial Litigation (Lawsuits) - Defamation of character

Expert: Charles W. Field - 5/19/2005

Question
Is it possible to charge someone with defamation of character?

If so, what type of a lawyer would I need for something like this?

Thank you!

Answer
It certainly is possible to sue someone for defamation. You need to call around for a consultation with a local attorney. I would suggest that you start with attorneys who handle personal injury cases, since those are torts, as is defamation. If the PI attorney doesn't handle these cases, surely, he/she can refer you to someone who does.
