Civil/Commercial Litigation (Lawsuits)/Fraud

Question
Hi Mr. Field, Im not sure if this question would be relevant to you, but im pretty sure it may be some type of fraud.  Some random person came to my door yesterday saying they were soliciting names for a petition to have someone put onto a ballot.  I briefly glanced over the form and it had the mayors name and some city councilmans names on it, and against my better judgment i signed it.  Is there any way this can come back to me in a negative way, meaning if its not really what i thought i was signing?  Thanks for any help!

Answer
I don't think you have a case for fraud since you had the opportunity to look it over and then voluntarily signed it. I also don't think it could come back to haunt you. However, if you have a concern, contact the person on whose behalf the petition was circulated and withdraw your support.
