Question
I live in the state of the North Carolina and am scheduled to participate in jury duty.  I would like to know what the repercussions would be for not going.  Thanks

Answer
If NC law is like GA's, the presiding judge can direct the local sheriff to go and find you and bring you to court. I would suggest that you consult with a local attorney, since I don't know NC law, about what excuses for absence are honored by your courts. You might also post you question to www.lawguru.com, where it will be directed to NC attorneys.
