Question
what are the steps in suing in small claims court in new york state?
is it worthe it to sue for a car accident where i was rear eneded by a truck but can only shoe 1500 dollars worth of damages to the vehicle and have no medical expense?

how much tiem and expense is involved
i ahve only one passenger witness and dont know if she will show up?

Answer
If NY procedure is like that in GA, you just go to wherever the small claims court is located, pay the filing fee (about $90.00, which is your only outlay) and fill out the forms. They take it from there and will notify you of your court date. You have to decide if it's worth your time. You get a judgment for the filing fee if you win. You might want to just go to a session or two as a spectator to see what goes on.
