Question
This question is like a test question. You have three houses in a row, above the three houses their are three utilities in a row one above each house; gas,pwoer,and water. The problem is to connect each utility with lines to each house without crossing any of the lines.

Answer
Hi John,

This is a mind-bender puzzle rather than civil engineering and is difficult for me to answer without doing a  sketch. However, if you draw the 3 houses in 3-D, then you can do the connections in both the horizontal and vertical planes, and possibly going through the houses and underground if that is permitted!
