Civil Engineering/Main rebar of column cutted

Question
QUESTION: Dear, the main bar for the column of 4th floor (last floor) cutted by MEP people, please give me the proper solution.

ANSWER: Hi Nadeem,

You have not given me enough info to advise properly, but if the bar is critical to the structural stability what you can do is cut out the concrete sufficiently (after propping the beams/slabs) so that you can either lap an extra bar, or weld on a splice bar. Make sure your column links go around the new splice bar.

QUESTION: Dear, the 4th floor (last floor) beams as well as slab and parapet wall already casted. please let me know if you required more information. Thanks.

Answer
Nadeem,

My earlier answer still applies- you need to do a stress check to see if the cut rebar is still required (for structural stability (due to possible over-design)- for example if there are 8 bars and only one is cut and it's not a  corner one, you may find that there is no need to do a repair/splice?
