Civil Engineering/box culverts

Question
Hi,
Can you explain the installation process for a series of box culverts?

Thanks

Gail

Answer
This is not really my area of expertise but I can give you an answer that is generally correct.

Normally they will build a coffer dam to stop the flow through the stream bed. Then either build a temporary ditch for the stream to flow around or pump it depending on the size of stream. Then dig out the bad or unsuitable material from the stream bed and starting installing the culvert.

In a nutshell that is what happens.
