GHi Mr Arshad
A bondek floor slab has deflected excessively due to the absence of propping during concreting. How do we assess whether this deflected bondek slab is still structurally sound and serviceable?

Answer
Hi Shirley,

As this is a proprietory product, you should really seek advice from the manufacturers. However, in principal, so long as the concrete topping is not damaged, the composite slab should perform as originally intended, albeit with excessive deflection. If there is afalse ceiling to hide this deflection and if the top surface is made level by screed, then there should be no problem for structural safety or servicibility.
