What are the Pros and Cons of using E TABS to design a CONCRETE STRUCTURE ?

Answer
Hi Imran,

This is a very general question and really depends on the type, size and complexity of the structure. For example, if it is a simple beam, hand calculations or a program like Prokon would be the easiest and quickest. If it is a complicated steel structure you may want to use SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro or similar.

ETABS is best for high-rise structures especially if it is of uniform floor plate all the way as ETABS is very quick for that. The cons for ETABS is that section design capability is limited and also it does not do flat slabs or post-tension design.
