Hi Arshad,
i'm from italy but i have to design with american codes. I have to design a diaphragm with corrugate steel deck + concrete. In the tables of steel decks there are always the "allowable diaphragm shear values" in force/length. I've not understood how this value is thought (in which way this allowable value is "applied") and with which value i have to make a comparison.

Hi Pier,

I think this is to do with the shear capacity of the lugs that are welded through the decking on to the steel beams. Once you know what diaphragm forces you need to transfer between the concrete and the steel beams, then you can use the guide to check its adequacy.
