Answer
Hello Tom,

Q. What made you choose your career?
A. I completed an internship in year 10 with a telecommunication company Lucent Bell Technologies, and thats what drove me to choose engineering as a career path for my future.

Q. What else did you consider being growing up?
A. Architecture was my initial choice but after further research I found civil engineering to have more challenges and it was something much more appealling than a facade of a building.

Q. Do you enjoy your job?
A. Currently not working I am studying, but when I did work I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it despite some challenges being a female in a male dominated environment.

Q. Whats the most rewarding part of your job?
A. Being able to solve complex problems that occur in our daily lives. Also the thought of being part of something which will become history is something which facinates me greatly.

Q. What classes where the most usefull for you in high school?
A. Maths, Chemistry, Physics were the most useful however you only cover so little in highschool, it is much different at a university level. The other subject I found useful was Engineering Studies which touches upon basic concepts in engineering.

Q. Whats a day at your job like?
A. Well I worked for a global consultancy and that was very demanding and required quality over budget. There were stringent deadlines that had to be met by a certain date and due to it being an alliance with other companies, this made the job even more challenging as communication with others who dont work in the same vicinity can make it quite difficult. Everyday was a new little problem inside a bigger problem, but it was all about team work and communication between the engineers that reaped solutions in a timely manner.

Hope this answers all your questions, goodluck with it all!

Warm Regards,
Jeanette
