Question
QUESTION: difference between mozaic and terrazo floors?

ANSWER: Hello Divyachandaka,

Terrazzo tiles are pre-manufactured cement tiles with chips of marble or granite in a portland cement or epoxy matrix in various thickness' and sizes. These tiles can often be found in entryways and are also used outdoors.

Mosaic Tiles are made up of small pieces of tiling to give either a pattern of shapes and colours or with a random layout with varying gaps for grout. Usually Mosaic Tiles come with the individual pieces mounted on a flexible mesh backing in the order of 30cm (12 inches) square, this keeps the pattern as defined during manufacture and makes this type quick to put up. Normally the pattern is such that butting one square against another (with them both the same way up) will produce the desired pattern. These can be bought as separate tiles so you can put your own personal touch on the design. They can also be purchased in pre-made patterns that have already been created for you.

Hope this answers your question.

Warm Regards,
Jeanette
