Question
Dear Sir,
while doing analysing a G+1 villa,I do not need major moment or shear transfer to a particular column than the others.I really want to pass this to other columns beside by .Is it possible by the arrangement of reinforcement or any other way.thanking you,

Hi Ravi,

Changing the rebar distribution will make little difference. You can alter the load-paths by changing relative stiffnesses of slabs/beams/columns, by introducing additional beams, or by making the top of the relevant column a partial pin-joint (latter is a bit complicated for detailing/construction, and will mainly reduce moment, and not necessarily the vertical load).
