Question

can u plz guide me that in which cases we make our building fireproof with reference to steel construction and what are modern ways in which fireproofing is carried out for these buildings..

Answer
Hi Civilian,

Fire ratings are determined in accordance with local authority regulations and so you need to refer to these in oredr to deteremine hwich structures require firproofing, and to what rating (usually by no. of hours resistance).

The 3 main methods of protecting steel structures are by concrete encasement, sprayed on layers, or intumescent paint (most expensive).
