pls let me know how to model hollowcore slabs in etabs

Hi Kaiser,

Here are 2 ways you can do this:

1. Model slabs as Shell, with special one-way load distribution. If out-of plane bending stiffness is not of concern, then you can model the slab as equivalent solid with reduced thickness. Remember to include the thickness of the structural topping.

2. As above, but if out-of plane stiffness is required, then model thickness of HCS (plus topping) but change the modifiers for bending/shear and weight/mass to correspond with the properties of the HCS.
