Q: What is your job title? Senior Transportation Engineer/ Project Manager
Q: Why did you choose this field? I choose a school that best fit my skills, i.e. math and science. Then when I got there I tried several different majors until I settled into one I liked.
Q: What problems does your field currently face? Funding shortaages - Transportation is a public sector arena, also, the housing crisis is severally affecting the civil site arena.
Q: What is being done to improve these? Here in the State of Georgia - they are looking at alternate means of funding to protect the future infrastructure.
Q: How big is the demand for work in your career? Usually it is outstanding, now is not so good just like most arenas.
Q: What other careers have you considered? School teacher, Salesperson, Coach.

Experience

I have 12 years experience in multiple fields of civil engineering. I spent the first four years of my career in the transportation industry by being a design engineer for prominent transpotation firm in Atlanta. I moved from there to civil site design and worked as a project manager for the next six years and currently I am the Director of Transportation for same firm.
