Question
Dear Sir,
Due to restricted hieght, I am asked to Design a Flat slab System. I have never designed it before.Checked out some books but got very little help.
Dear sir please help me
1.I want to know how would I divide the panels since I dont have a uniform square spacing of columns ?

2.What about the wall load , Should I take the complete   Wall weight(kN) and convert to area wight (kN/Sq.M) over the flat slab.

3.Should I design each panel seperately or design a panel  with maximum dimensions and use it for all the panels.

thankyou sir

Answer
Hi Syed,

This is complicated if you do not have a regular grid of supports and the only way is to use a 3-D analysis program like SAFE.

Wall loads can be spread over a strip of say 1-1.5m wide and applied as a UDL.

All panels need to be designed according to the internal forces deteremined by the analysis. Particular care is required for punching shear around columns and for deflection, particularly of end-spans.
