Question
Sir,
 I am a graduate in Civil Engineering and working as a design Consultant in Power industry.Now I have got a chance to pursue an M Tech degree in Geotechnical but my preference was in Structural Engineering,should I wait for a year to get my first preference subject? or Geotechnical will sharpen my knowledge and future career  prospect better.Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee give me a suggestion as early as possible I am really confused.This is a personal question but I have not got anyone better than allexperts.com.Please help me ......

Hi Subhadip,

The decision really depends on what interests you more- statics and analysis (and seeing actaul buildings come up that you have designed), or soil mechanics which is not a very exact science and you really do not have much to show your friends and families what you have done.

Both fields have good career prospects, so make the decision on what fires your imagination more.
