hi..im a fresh graduate of BS in Civil engineering.. Fear overwhelms me whenever i think about my future.."what's gonna happen to me so and so years from now?" Things like that.. So i was wondering, what are the prospects in civil engineering... I mean, how do i exactly make a living, should i join a firm, take a casual job, or go overseas, like "what's the bigger picture?"..I dream of becoming a full-time contractor one day..And i feel i have the talent..Any words of enlightment is greatly appreciated..tnx..

Answer
The market right now is not great but the future is still bright. The civil engineering industry is something that over the years has been strong due to the nature of what we do. For example, transportation is something that constantly deteriorates and needs improvement. Development slows and but there are always developers looking to make money and develop property. These are just two examples of why the civil engineering business will be strong again and we will for the most part be a great industry to work in.
