Question
How to calculate the rate of flow of water through a V- notch?

Answer
We very rarely use the V-notch weir anymore due to the complexity of calculating the rate of of flow. Here in the United States we have started using a combination of orifice and/or multiple square weirs to determine outflow of a pond. If it absolutely necessary to use a v-notch then a computer program such as hydroflow hydrograph would be necessary to calculate that outflow.
