Question
i have to design a container office.I already designed the foundations by considering the load stabilising moment to counter overturning moment. But then i am getting some doubts about uplift effects.how do i calculate uplift on the container? and if there is no uplift, why?

Hi Mi,

The only uplift you will get is from high cross wind loading, that may give rise to suction on the roof (and possibly upwards loading under the floor, if there is a gap between that and the ground). So long as the sum of these upward forces is less than the dead (self) weight (with a factor of safety of say 1.2), then you need not wory about uplift.
