Question
Dear Sir,
        I have to design a mosque building of size 66mx66m
without expansion joint. The temperature variation will be
10'c to 60'c with ambients 35'c ... Analysis will be done in
Staad pro..
        Pl let me know your suggestions...

Hi Mahendran,

This is only a little bit larger than the recommended maximum of 50m, so I suggest you just include a temperature load case within STAAD.Pro, and then do the combinations with DL and LL for the analysis. That way the additional axial stresses in beams and bending moments induced in columns due to expansion will be taken into account when doing the design.
