Sir,

I have a doubt of calculating area of tunnel of d shaped and horse shoe shaped tunnels can you please help me with that.

Hi Mandar,

The best way to do this is to divide up the X-section shape into a semi-circle, a rectangle and possibly 2 triangles at the sides (if the sides are not vertical). Then you can easily work out the individual areas and add them up.

Or, if you have the section drawn in AutoCad, then the software has a feature to measure areas.
