QUESTION: Dear Sir,Good day.actually I would like to know what is the requirement of a tie runner that as shown in a typical truss drawing that is being attaching here for your kind perusal...thanks so much..

Answer
Hi Ravi,

I am sorry but the drawing is too small to see and this is not a terminology I have come across. If they are ties at the bottom nodes, between adjacent trusses, then they are usually there to brace the bottom chord against buckling when it goes into reverse stress (compression) due to wind-induced uplift.
