Dear Sir,

I am designing a control building in UAE. I want to how to apply temperature forces in STAAD.What is procedure for applying temperature loads to RCC building.

Hi Sachin,

Basically you need to decide on the temperature range between night and day (and also between winter & summer), and then apply the difference (say 45 to 25 = 20 degrees C, which could be plus or minus sign) to the long members (normally to beams and columns, or RC walls), and save that as a separate load case in STAAD. Then you can combine the temperature load case with say the gravity laod case- normally temperature load case is not combined with lateral load cases.
