Civil Engineering/Column Model in Etabs

Question
Dear Sir,

I think, a question i made yesterday is not clearly understood. My question was regarding modelling of single column having two different beams which are 2' apart but in same storey lvl (say 2 beams in x-dirn are 2' apart and eccentric column need to be modelled to rest these beams.) I tried with necessary offset values for frame joint offset from cardinal point and with frame stiffness transformed. Is this a correct method?

Thank You sir

Answer
Hi Sajeev,

In this case you are telling me that the column is 2 ft or more wide? The two ways you can model this is to either model the beam at the centre line and then apply a torsional moment equal to the shear times eccentricity, or else have a stiffer/transformed property beam modelled equal in length to the eccentricity, to which you can connect the beam in question.
