dear sir,
me and my group are assigned to do a project on portal frames, but we are not much familiar with the topic. could you provide any information that we should know to help us in the project.

Hi Rajit,

You have not mentioned whether this is in RCC or steel. Both will have similar analysis methods, but the detailing and connection and fire-proofing will be different. Portals can be either without any joints, or with hinges (pin supports) at the bases, or even with a pin support at the apex. You can have single bay portals or multiple bay portals...
